AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is for candidates who want to become commissioned officers in the Indian Air Force.
This exam is for recruitment to the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) categories of the Air Force

​Branch: Flying, Ground Duty (Technical, Non-Technical)
​Total Vacancies: 142 (Number of vacancies may increase)

​Important Information:

​Women and Men: Eligible men and women can apply.
​Marital Age/Status: Applicants should be single.
​Mode of Application: Apply online.
​Date of Application: May 20 to June 19.

For all posts, Plus Two with Physics and Maths should have at least 50% marks.

​Flying Branch & Administration/Logistics/Weapon Systems: Any Graduation with at least 60% marks or B.Tech.
​Ground Duty (Technical): 4 years B.Tech degree (related engineering branches) with minimum 60% marks.
​Accounts Branch: Commerce/Finance degree (B.Com / BBA / BMS) with minimum 60% marks.

​(Note: Final year students can also apply).

​Age Limit (as on 01.07.2027):

​Flying Branch: 20–24 years. (Must be born between 2nd July 2003 and 1st July 2007. Both dates inclusive).
​Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical Branch): 20–26 years. (Must be born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2007. Both dates inclusive).

​Salary and other benefits:

​Salary (Flying Officer): ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500.
​Stipend: Flight cadets will receive a stipend of ₹56,100 during training.

​Training:

​Training will commence in July 2027 in Hyderabad.

​Training duration: 62 weeks for Flying and Ground Duty Technical Branch and 50 weeks for Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch.

​Application Fee:

​₹550 + GST.

​Note: There is no fee for those applying through NCC/GATE score special entry.

​Visit Website: First visit the official portal of the Air Force https://afcat.cdac.in or https://afcat.edcil.co.in.
​Registration (Sign Up): Click on ‘Candidate Login’ and register a new account by entering your name, email ID and mobile number.
​Fill the application: After logging in, enter your personal details, educational qualifications and branch of interest (Flying/Technical/Non-Technical) correctly.
​Upload Documents: Upload a photograph, signature and left thumb impression in the specified size.
